Club Craig
OuchI slipped down the stairs today. Luckily I was carrying a RC car and not my youngest son. I ended up falling down around the corner. I must admit it did hurt a bit. The worst part of it was I was sitting there in pain wondering if I'd broken something and my 5 year old son was laughing at me. I think I still need to teach him a little more compassion. I'll be more careful. Inferno Tuning Stage 2.As you've probably notice with some of my recent pictures and video, I've just recently aquired a Kyosho Inferno. While I'm loving it to bits, It still requires a little more work on the tuning. Stage one was complete with a dropping of the ride-height as well as the installation of a new servo. The kit servos are really, really terrible (there isn't a nicer way of putting it.) Slow and not powerful. With the new servo and lower ride, it performed a lot better. Now onto Stage 2. I'm hoping to do the following: 1. Continue to lower the ride height. I think I can go lower again and still be ok. 2. Add stiffer grease into the center and front diffs. I believe this will give me better drive. I've been seeing in photos the front wheels ballooning too much. 3. Possibly soften up the suspension with some softer springs. This would also depend on their availability. So, when this is complete, I'll take some more pictures and video and will compare them with what I already have. Should be interesting. My DF03 is also in a million parts at the moment. I'm still in 2 minds as to how to make the rear a lot stronger. Until tomorrow... The foods of winterI love food!!! I really love the winter foods that they prepare in Japan. The hot pots are great. The warm soups are great.... and then there is Mochi and baked sweet potato. Today I was asked to partake in the prepation of both. I really enjoy making mochi... 1 2 3, hey, 1 2 3.... And then there is the eating. yummmmm The weather truly is interesting. To be honest, I find the weather in Japan fascinating. It's so different and has a number of extremes. Where I'm from the winters are extremely mild. Single digit temperatures in winter were rather rare. Whereas here, love it when the temperature goes below 0. It seems to be the level at which amazing things start to happen. Mind you, in summer my home town has 40+ degree days. They Are simply no fn whatsoever. Merry Christmas ... Christmas SeasonMerry Christmas! I must admit, I like Christmas much more than I like the New Years season. For me, it's neither the presents or santa, nor the religious side of Christmas that I like. It's the family and friends side of Christmas. Even people of whom you may have had disagreements with during the year, usually come around in time for Christmas. I really miss this feeling. I don't really like new years. I'm not quite sure when it started but I can remember back to the year that I'd just finished University and I still wasn't sure what was going to happen the next year. I was really bombed. I guess I tend to look over the last year and focus on the things that I didn't manage to do rather than seeing the new year as a time of opportunity. I'm that kind of person. I know what I don't know, and it is that which maked me driven. Our house Christmas Tree is now up and shiny. My children are getting very excited and that is the energy that I love. |
